Annalise - 10.5 months

This little one is growing and learning before my eyes!

I want to document it here because I swear, she wakes up every day with a new trick.

At 10.5 months old she is

- Crawling around like a hurtling, out of control puppy- bounding around our flat and learning how fast her little hands and knees will take her

- Remembering things- I have set up a draw in the kitchen with Annie-safe things: spatulas, the microwave manual, wooden spoons, Tupperware. When she enters our kitchen she heads straight for it. She mostly loves just opening and closing the draw or standing up on it. Her favorite thing to play with / suck on is a piping bag which I've used before for icing cakes mostly- I wonder if it tastes like sugar?
I'm hoping this is a sign of a future cake baker like her mother.

- Bottles - this little girl is so good at feeding herself a bottle- in the mornings especially she really just wants to hold the bottle herself- I'm cool with that!

-Dada - "dadadadadadadadada" all day long... I raise her a "mamamamama" every time, just as a gentle suggestion to which she stares me down with her tiny upturned mouth and defiance in her eyes and repeats "dadadadadadadadada"
I'm being played here.

- She's serious with strangers, barely ever a smile. When we take her out amongst a group and sit her down, she'll stay put and observe for the longest time, it takes her quite a while to warm -up. I wonder if this is a glimpse of her lifelong disposition? Maybe she'll be shy and cautious.

- Food- she likes to eat and mostly wants to feed herself. Toast, avocado sandwiches, any kind of fruit especially strawberries, blueberries and peaches, cheese and yoghurt seem to be the winners.

Ready now for 11 months and starting to think about the first birthday party...
